A verb is a
word that expresses an action or a state of being.
There are two classes of verbs:

A verb tense is the form of the verb that expresses time - past, present, or future.
Regular
Add –d or –ed to the present tense to form the past tense

Actions that happen regularly or permanently

Actions that will take place in the future

Perfect
Past Perfect
Shows actions that came directly before another in the past (had).

Present Perfect
Shows actions that were finished recently or at an indefinite time in the past (have or has).

Future Perfect
Shows actions that will happen before another future action (will have or shall have).

*Formed with the “helping verbs”: have, has, had, will and shall + past participle of the verb
Progressive (AKA continuous)

- Both simple and perfect forms can be made into this form
- An action that is in progress or is continuing
- To Be + present participle (-ing)
